New Club Officers Elected

At the March 22 Displaced Brewery Fanatics club meeting, held at the Park Winery in Grosse Pointe Park, club members held their first election to decide who is going to lead the newly formed club into its first year.

Rather than play “spin the beer bottle,” the group made its selections audibly. Members first were nominated for two positions: president and treasurer. After the first round, Ed “T-Bar” Stone emerged as the winner for club President.

Stone, also known as “Ed the Plumber,” has an extensive background in home brewing and was a familiar face at the former Detroit Brew Factory, a brew-on-premises store formerly located in Eastpointe across from Eastland Mall.

Tom Adams collected enough votes to become the club's new Treasurer. (We're keeping a close eye on you, Tom.)

Also at the meeting, DBF members discussed the formation of club policies and the need to institute membership dues. Money will go toward field trips, guest speakers, brewing equipment and other expenses.

“Any input, ideas or suggestions are welcome,” says Stone. “Let's make a KICKA$$ brew club!!!”
